John McAfee reveals his staggering fees for every tweet promoting crypto

As reported by CoinTelegraph.com , John McAfee, recently revealed his charges for promoting cryptocurrency via Twitter.  The British-American programmer and businessman said that he charges $105,000 for tweeting every post related to cryptocurrency. McAfee is also the creator of antivirus software named Eponymous.

Tweeting last week, McAfee acknowledged a guide produced by the McAfee Crypto Team which describes the use of promotional tweets on their website. The team works as a marketing agency to promote Initial Coin Offerings and every project related to the cryptocurrency industry.

His tweet read, “We finally wrote down how our promotional tweets work. It’s self-aggrandizing and ego stroking for us, however, if you’re planning an ICO, trying to boost a coin or want to shine a light on your latest project, you should overlook our swollen egos and see: mcafeecryptoteam.com/effect.html.”

The guide provides the data over a series of polls dealing with his twitter followers and their crypto usage. It was revealed that 259,000 of his twitter followers own more than 50% of their assets in the form of cryptocurrencies. Similarly, 224,000 of his followers represent “at a minimum, $4.48 bln in crypto investments.”

The McAfee website provides a straightforward calculation of achieving the average cost per tweet. The site, after taking in account his 810,000 twitter followers the price for per tweet posted by McAfee turned out to be $105,000. As per the findings, the cost per investor reached is not more than $0.13. According to him, “This is orders of magnitude less than any other approach,” and he only promotes products he truly believes in.

It should also be noted that McAfee denied posting any promoted content on his twitter handle. In an interview with Cointelegraph in January 2018, McAfee said, “I would say definitely they tried to pay me. I’m not going to talk about my personal finances where I make my money or from who. I set up on stage as it’s my business and it should be everybody’s business. And actually, I think it’s rude to even ask such questions of people. No offense.”

McAfee’s crypto plans take shape

A few days ago, Bloomberg reported that McAfee is joining hands with a startup named CryptoSecure as an advisor. The firm is focused on providing hackproof security solutions for the crypto community. It is backed up by Key Capital Corp. which deals in fintech, precious metal mining, and cancer treatments. After the announcement, Key Capital Corp saw its shares surge up to 400 percent.

Currently, McAfee is known as the biggest influence in the crypto community. Time and again, he has shown his love for the popular coin Ethereum. In a recent tweet, he defended the ongoing drop in Ethereum’s value by reminding its importance in carrying out smart contracts in more than 50% of all the new altcoins.

It would be interesting to see how McAfee’s followers react to his disclosure while dealing in the volatile world of digital currency. Even in the worst case scenario McAfee will remain in the news and attract more casual investors to his Twitter handle.
